Traffic Quiz 7

Where do you stop in relation to a stop sign?

A. As far out into the main road as possible and as far left as possible in the lane.
B. One or more car lengths before you get to the stop sign.
C. Anywhere you like.
D. With your front bumper even with the stop sign, stop line, pedestrian markings or curb, in the center of your lane.

Moliner’s Answer :

A. As far out into the main road as possible and as far left as possible in the lane.

  • Sometimes there is limited visibility onto the main street, but even if you can clearly see everything, you might want to do this, just so everyone can see you.
  • Any cars turning left from the main street will have to perform a sharp, slow turn in order to get around your car. The driver will probably give you a dirty look, too.

(Also acceptable)

C. Anywhere you like

Conventional Answer:

D. At the stop sign, markings or curb.
